About the Day

You will need to bring a model each day 1-pm-3pm.

Just one, full day of learning to introduce you to your new career in the bridal industry

You will receive a 26 piece set of brushes on your arrival. These are included in the price and if you choose to book onto one of the professional courses, you already have them!

9:30AM — Welcome To The World Of Professional Makeup
Your day starts with Lisa, Director of NE Academy.
We’ll talk about what it’s really like to work as a professional makeup artist, including:
 
  • Working with clients
  • Bridal and occasion makeup
  • Professional makeup kits
  • Products and brands
  • Building a portfolio
  • Finding clients
  • Self-employment
  • Building your own beauty business
  • Training and career pathways
 
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about becoming a professional makeup artist, professional training and what it takes to get started.
  
10:30AM — Live Professional Makeup Demonstration
Watch Lisa create a professional makeup look on a live model while explaining the decisions and techniques behind every stage.
 
You’ll learn about:
  • Skin type and preparation
  • Skin tone and undertones
  • Face shape
  • Colour selection
  • Product selection
  • Professional makeup brands
  • Brushes and tools
  • Professional application techniques
  • Adapting makeup to suit different clients
 
Rather than simply watching a makeup look being created, you’ll begin to understand WHY a professional makeup artist makes particular choices for each individual client.
 
12:30PM — Lunch
Take a break, chat about everything you’ve learned and get ready for the practical part of your day.
  
1:00PM — Now It’s Your Turn
This is where you get hands-on.
 
You’ll work on Your Own Model using professional makeup products provided by NE Academy and your new professional brush set.
With Lisa guiding and supporting you, you’ll begin putting professional techniques into practice.
 
You’ll also complete a professional client consultation and analysis form, helping you understand how professional makeup artists assess their clients and plan their finished look.
This is your opportunity to experience what practical professional makeup training really feels like.
 
You will have an opportunity to see a Professional Training kit and see what’s included before you decide.

Lisa has worked within makeup, beauty, business since 2011 and aftter undertaking professional training in London, Lisa developed her career within the bridal and beauty industry before moving into education and establishing her own training academy.

Important Information

The Makeup Artist Experience Day is an introduction to professional makeup artistry.

It is not an accredited qualification and is not a replacement for NE Academy’s full Professional Makeup Artist Training.

Students are required to bring their own model for the practical part of the Experience Day.

If you decide to progress after attending, your full £249 Experience Day payment can be redeemed against NE Academy’s £749 or £999 hands-on Professional Makeup Artist Training when you book your professional course within 30 days of attending your Experience Day.

Once your professional course is booked, you will have up to 3 months to complete your hands-on training, giving you flexibility to arrange your training around work, family and other commitments.

Clearpay payment options are available, allowing eligible customers to spread the cost over 3 months, subject to Clearpay approval and terms.

Places on each Makeup Artist Experience Day are limited to a maximum of 4 students and are subject to availability.
